Export and import of Latvia
In 2019, peat was exported for 185 million euros.
Extensive insight into the use of peat in the world and in Europe
can be gained by getting acquainted with I. Krieger's presentation
at the IPS International Symposium on Peat for Food Production and
Quality of Life, held in September 2019 in Qingdao, China:
Peat
in Latvia, Europe and the World.
The Central Statistical Bureau includes data on peat exports and
imports for both raw peat and peat products, including peat
substrates. The exported products may have different humidity. The
amount of extracted peat is calculated by converting to a relative
humidity of 40%.
